Only one possible Start and EndDate for more than zero insurers.

Description

In the Payer Zib in the Insurance Container there is the StartDateTime, the EndDateTime and the InsuranceType. According to Simplifier every field can only be defined once in the coverage FHIR message. But there can be 1..* insurers.

Does this mean the defined StartDateTime, the EndDateTime and the InsuranceType count for all the found insurers (in that particular coverage resource)?

With kind regards,

Yuri

Answer

A Payer is known under an InsurantNumber at an InsuranceCompany. He might have multiple Insurance (packages) registered under this InsurantNumber with this InsuranceCompany.

Each Insurance (package) is an instance of Coverage connected to the InsuranceCompany in Coverage.payor.

The Coverage.identifier could be an Insurance (package) id but the HCIM doesn't have that. The Coverage.subscriberId would be the same across Coverage instances for the same Payer at the same InsuranceCompany.
